Quorum Singers of St Albans has been singing for over 25 years, and perform around 3 times a year in St Albans or locally in Hertfordshire. We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays, throughout the term time, and can often be found performing in Christopher Place around Christmas time!  less

The unique sonority of a female group of singers, usually a capella, has been widely explored throughout the history of music by many composers from all times, both male and female. Examples of such music can be found from the Middle Ages up to contemporary music; however it is not until Romanticism that works are composed specifically for female choirs. Thus, a particular genre is born that will keep its own entity up to the present times. This genre has been especially cultivated as of late by female artists and composers. Although we have diverse backgrounds, our members thrive by working together to achieve shared goals. We sing a range of repertoire from jazz standards to 21st-century pop, barbershop to show tunes, but most importantly we sing a cappella. The group aims to expose the audience to the magic of this genre, which is almost completely forgotten. The Hazelnuts' Concert combines original songs - preserving the musical spirit of the genre and poured into a contemporary feminine point of view, and in addition - stylistic adaptations of cotemporary songs and authentic pieces from the thirties. This mixed-voice Choral ensemble varies in size d...  moreOrganized under the direction of Dr. Brady Allred in 2010, the Salt Lake Vocal Artists has become the first professional-level touring and recording choir within the Salt Lake Choral Artists organization. This mixed-voice Choral ensemble varies in size depending on the project from 16 to 40 auditioned singers and performs a diverse repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. In its premiere season, the SL Vocal Artists were honored with an invitation to participate in the 42nd Tolosa Choral Contest in October 2010. After a successful Concert tour of the Basque region of Spain, the SLVA competed against renowned choirs from all over the world and were awarded First Prize in all four categories they entered, as well as the special Audience Prize. To conclude only its second season, the SL Vocal Artists were one of only 25 choirs and the only American choir to perform at the World Choral Symposium in Argentina following a two week Concert tour of the country in July and August.
