The Forest City Fire a cappella chorus aims to sing interesting and challenging music with a high level of precision and expertise. It is our belief that a cappella singing can be enjoyed by people from all ages and all walks of life.

The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a Voice placement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students who have been...  moreThe Chorale is the premier, choral ensemble of the University. The ensemble consists of approximately 24-32 vocalists selected through a Voice placement process and performs traditional/advanced choral literature from all periods. Students who have been active in choral ensembles in high school or college are encouraged to audition for this Choir. Auditions for Chorale can take place at anytime to fill necessary spots in the group. Once students are selected for Chorale, they are members until they choose to leave, are removed, or when they graduate. In addition to its regular concert schedule, the Chorale tours each spring (Orlando, ’09; NYC, ’10; Atlanta, ’11, Boston, ’12, Orlando, ’13). A yearly scholarship is offered to people who are successfully placed in the group.  less

De Heeren consists of 8 men, most of whom study at the Fontys Conservatoire in Tilburg. What sets this group apart is that is has musical as well as classical trained singers. Due to this wide variety of musical diversity of this group it allows for a broad selection of repertoire. Their mission is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. On September 10 of this year, Nashville Singers awarded their first Music Makes a Difference music education grant to John Overton High School. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. Due tra le ipotesi più accreditate sulla formazione d...  moreCoro Polifonico Maschile Segossini è il nuovo nome che sostituisce Su Cuncordiu Sinniesu fondato a Sìnnai nel 1998. La denominazione attuale vuole essere un richiamo all’origine del toponimo Sìnnai. Due tra le ipotesi più accreditate sulla formazione del nome del paese farebbero infatti derivare Sìnnai dal fenicio sina (rovo, luogo pieno di sterpi) o dal latino medievale sinnum (segno di confine fra i salti di due villaggi). Tali ipotesi sarebbero confermate anche dal nome del secondo villaggio che diede origine al paese: Segossini, che significherebbe per l’appunto “subito dopo Sinnai”, in quanto unione o del termine latino secus o sardo segus (traducibili entrambi con subito dopo o dietro) con il nome sina o sinnum. Much of the music we sing is arranged in the barbershop style. Along with entertaining our local audience KCC competes in the Mid Atlantic District of the Barbershop Harmony Society and is a consistent champion in our Division. KCC also promotes quartet singing as well as a cappella singing among the youth in our region. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 7pm and are always open for visitors so feel free to visit to find out more and to see if our group is right for you.  less

Music from every music epoch will be performed from serious to more pop/contemporary a cappella forms. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.
