“Misericordes sicut Pater,” is the official Latin theme of the Year of Mercy and translates to “Merciful Like the Father"; by the English Composer Paul Inwood and the text of the hymn in Latin and Italian was written by Jesuit Father Eugenio Costa.

The title is drawn from John 6:36, Misericordes sicut Pater (English: Be Merciful, As Your Father Is). Inwood's composition was the winner in an interNational competition sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. The hymn has now been released in Italian, French, and English, with a Latin antiphon and refrains.

Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and compl... moreFounded in 1992 by their current Artistic Director Gilbert Patenaude, Les Chantres Musiciens is a choir of young men aged 17 to 29 who hail from the celebrated Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal. Les Chantres Musiciens’ repertoire is both varied and complex, comprising a range of works from the Romantic period (including Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms) to Post-Romantic and modern compositions (including, for example, Schafer, Reger, Schönberg, and Langlais). The ensemble has earned a reputation for excellence, confirmed by prizes at National and interNational competitions, tours, and several distinguished recordings. Their first tour brought them through Germany and France, garnering critical and public acclaim, particularly at the Festival de Musique de Moselle. In 2007, the choir participated in the InterNational Men’s Voice Festival in Pleyben.
