The Ely Youth Choir for 13 to 18 year olds was launched with great success in 2010 and is aimed at teenagers who want to experience the fun and excitement of choral singing to public audiences.  less

Les cloches tintaient, légères et franches, dans le ciel clément. Rhythmique et fervent comme une antienne, ce lointain appel me remémorait la blancheur chrétienne des fleurs de l'autel. Ces cloches parlaient d'heureuses années, et, dans le grand bois, semblaient reverdir les feuilles fanées, des jours d'autrefois. The leaves unfurled on branches so lightly delicate and soft. As well as attending weekly rehearsals, the members of this ensemble are committed to music studies and/or Voice training. They also participate in a variety of wonderful performance opportunities, recordings and a touring program. Brisbane Birralee Voices is acknowledged on home shores and abroad as one of Australia's finest children's Choirs. The program encourages young singers to develop their vocal technique and attain musical excellence and there is a strong focus on nurturing the individual in a broader sense. We ...  moreThe Island Consort Chamber Choir is a 20-Voice community chamber Choir that first appeared in concert in late April 2007. Its repertoire is varied and loosely “classical”, focusing on sacred and secular music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. This is an auditioned group with considerable musical and choral experience, one that aspires to a higher standard of performance. Our members include amateur and professional musicians, Choir directors and music educators. Prospective members may audition from time to time as positions come open. Contact the Choir if you have an interest in joining. We perform mostly a cappella pieces, but many of our concerts include accompaniment by members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and organ.  less
