Directed by Cécile Bienz, this group of amateur but experienced singers is dedicated to sharing their passion for music and developing adventuresome and challenging collaborations that gather amateurs and professional musicians. These enthusiastic young women strive to build bridges between diverse cultural backgrounds: they are dedicated to musical excellence in the performance of both folk music as well as classical choral repertoire and contemporary creation. While the majority of the singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at the university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of the last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around the country: the Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; the Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; the Music Educators National Convention; the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and the ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The choir is renowned on the international stage as well, representing the US at competitions and festivals around the world.
