While the majority of the singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at the ... moreThe Mansfield University Concert Choir is a highly select ensemble of singers, representing some of the finest talent from the American Northeast. While the majority of the singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at the university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of the last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around the country: the Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; the Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; the Music Educators National Convention; the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and the ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The choir is renowned on the international stage as well, representing the US at competitions and festivals around the world. The singers are frequently praised for the emotional spectrum in their performances, their diverse vocal color, and their varied repertoire.
The Mansfield University Concert Choir is one of only 4 US choirs in the top 30 overall rankings of thousands of choirs who compete internationally each year.
The Mansfield University Concert Choir made their Carnegie Hall debut as an ensemble on January 18, 2014.
