The poem has a clear structure (verse – chorus), and the vocal parts are kept straightforward. The striking piece contains some jazzy chords and humorously unexpected twists. This work won the first prize in the 2013 Composition Competition of the European Choral Association in the frame of the festival Youth Choirs in Movement.

The Southend Boys' Choir was formed in 1972 and the Girls' Choir in 1988. The Choirs perform regularly in major London venues including Royal Albert Hall, and sing with professional orchestras. They also tour extensively, and have performed in US, Canad...  moreThe Southend Boys' Choir was formed in 1972 and the Girls' Choir in 1988. The Choirs perform regularly in major London venues including Royal Albert Hall, and sing with professional orchestras. They also tour extensively, and have performed in US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Seychelles and across Europe. We welcome visiting Choirs and enjoy joining with other Youth Choirs in concerts. We have a training Choir for younger singers, and a Choir for boys whose voices have changed.  

One of the biggest private and social choral projects in Madrid, Spain. Founded by Coral Santiago Apostol, a well-known mixed Choir, which has extended its scope to children and young people, creating Coro Ilusiones (children) and Coro Encanto (Youth).

Performance by the Mansfield University Concert Choir conducted by Peggy Dettwiler at the 2014 World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia. They won a gold medal and third place in the Mixed Youth Choir Category.
