Lusardi Girelli. Since its creation, the GU choir has offered multiple programmes, concerts and workshops across Goa and India, receiving excellent commentaries from audience and press alike. During the last three years, the choir has performed at several important venues such as the Ketevan World Sacred Music Festival and the Monte Festival in Old Goa, amongst others. The choir has collaborated with renowned artistes from India, Asia, Europe and America, such as the Cappella della Luce Ensemble (Spain), St Ephraim choir (Hungary), Indo Portuguese Ensemble (Portugal-India), Vandalia and the Seville Chamber choir (Spain), the Bombay Chamber Orchestra (India) and soloists like Rocío de Frutos (Spain), Leo Rossi (Argentina), Mirjiam Munzel (Germany), Karl Luchtmayer (UK) and Sonia Shirsat (India). The choir’s work was interrupted for several years during its members’ academic education, as well as during their participation in different musical projects. The present line-up has been steady since 2006. Their repertoire offers a variety of styles of great difficulty and chromatic richness, and tries to take advantage of the cultural and geographic circumstances which make of the Canary Islands a multicultural place. A remarkable feature of the group is their willingness to innovate within the choral music. Their versatility and the variety of repertoire they face can be seen in the different projects they have taken part in: short operas, official or private events, festivals, and monographic concerts on different subjects. Aimed mainly at singers in the "young professional" category, it is for people who are looking for a choir with a difference - a great social atmosphere and a challenging, varied repertoire. An auditioned choir of around 25 members, Tamesis is a high-standard choir, capable of singing 8-part repertoire on a few rehearsals and having fun while doing it! We've just recorded our second CD which will be released in Autumn 2012.
