the Cwmbach choir was formed in 1921, and has survived to the present day even though it was severely tested by periods of hardship, depression and the Second World War. During it's 90 years it has flourished and built up an enviable record of success...  more the Cwmbach choir was formed in 1921, and has survived to the present day even though it was severely tested by periods of hardship, depression and the Second World War. During it's 90 years it has flourished and built up an enviable record of success in competitions and concert performances. Its success in competition,particularly eisteddfodau, was established in its early days. the first taste of success was second prize at Treorchy in 1928, followed by Cardiff in 1938 and Ebbw Vale in 1958. the first prize was ultimately achieved at Port Talbot in 1966 and repeated in 1968 at Barry. This is from the Los Altos High School Concert choir's performance of "Requiem Mass in D Minor" by W.A. Mozart. This selection is Lacrimosa. Recorded at the First Methodist Church of Palo Alto.

A part of the choir's performance at 44th Croatian Choral Assembly held in October 2011 in Novigrad. the performance has been awarded 3rd place and bronze plaque by the jury.

It is a setting of the 14th century Eucharistic hymn in Latin "Ave verum corpus" in 1791. Mozart wrote it for Anton Stoll, a friend of Mozart and Joseph Haydn. Stoll was the Musical coordinator in the parish of Baden bei Wien, near Vienna. This setting of the Ave verum corpus text was composed to celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi; the autograph is dated 17 June 1791. It is only forty-six bars long and is scored for SATB choir, string instruments, and organ. Mozart's manuscript contains minimal directions, with only a single sotto voce at the beginning.  less
