Members of The choir are auditioned, multi-generational, and range in age from 17 to senior citizens. Performance music includes a wide variety of musical styles. Performances take place in local churches, Theaters, etc. The Chorale programs two rehearsal and concert seasons each year. Artistic Director & Conductor Jan Lanterman and Associate Conductor Jason Nett conduct rehearsals and performances.

While The majority of The singers are undergraduate music majors, membership is open to all students at The university through an audition process. The group has achieved an impressive reputation of excellence, having been chosen each of The last twenty years to perform at conventions or festivals around The country: The Pennsylvania Music Educators State Conference; The Eastern Division Music Educators National Conference; The Music Educators National Convention; The American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania State Conference, and The ACDA Eastern Division Convention. The choir is renowned on The international stage as well, representing The US at competitions and festivals around The world. It was Mr. Bonnie Fonseka, a distinguished Old Boy, who's vision soon came to be a Benedictine tradition, by forming a musical club. This prompted The birth of The first College Choir. The Choir acquired a reputation for top class singing and in addition often invited to perform at important national events such as to perform with oTher Schools when princess Elizabeth visited Ceylon in 1952. Since Mr. Bonnie Fonseka’s retirement There were many dedicated young musicians who undertook The responsibility and uphill task of training The Choir. Some of Them were Mr. Robert Joseph, Mr. Francis De Almeida, Mr. Nicholas Johnpulle, Rev Bro. Augustine and Mr. Ravein George. We are a mixed-voice choir of around 30 singers, performing a wide variety of secular and sacred "classical"; choral music. We mainly sing a cappella, and tend to focus on lesser-known older works, and modern repertoire, often from living composers. However, this is by no means exclusive! The choir sings Three main concerts per year, with a charity carol concert just before Christmas. We are also a sociable bunch, with regular social events and a number of 'spin-off' groups.  less
