This is a satirical madrigal mocking the Catholics of the timebased on a madrigal allegedly composed by Claudin de Sermisy....
(actually I find this hard to believe since he was a good Catholic, but maybe someone has further information?)...
The original is partly in Renaissance French of the court and partly in a dialect of that period.

We are brothers of the same species and maybe we do not realize but our differences- ideological, behavioral, religious, gender, etc. - In truth are skills to complement us and if we unite them, we will have access to all the knowledge of all the truths existing in humanity.
We must be tolerant and learn from one another because we are in the same boat traveling together and to live a wonderful life, we must listen to each other and unite to awaken our kindness and create synergistic relationships. So we will always remember that we are the same species and we will find peace.

The choir will be accompanied by celebrated soloists, Ceferina Penny, Jorge Navarro Colorado and Ashley Riches, and The Purcell Orchestra.
This will be the seventh KCS concert featuring Haydn’s beloved tour de force in their 76-year history. But it is notable as it will be the first KCS Creation in the Royal Borough since 1987. More recently in 2013 Andrew Griffiths, the KCS Musical Director, conducted KCS in an acclaimed version at Cadogan Hall.
Another special feature is that, for the first time, KCS will sing the work accompanied by The Purcell Orchestra of period instruments, enhancing the colour of music already suffused with awe, delight and humour.
For lovers of Haydn’s masterpiece, this is an unmissable event. And for those unfamiliar with it, you are in for an exhilarating ride, as Haydn’s breathtaking musical invention propels us from primal chaos... less

THE SONG OF RUTH for Soprano Solo, SATB Chorus unaccompanied by Stanley M. Hoffman (2015)
The Song of Ruth, a setting of the most famous passage from the Book of Ruth (Ruth 1:16–17), opens with a gentle polyphonic section for the chorus. (“Do not ask me to leave you, or to stop following you; for where ever you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.”) The soprano joins the choir for the twice-repeated middle section of the piece. The music here is contrastingly homophonic and intense. (“Where you die, I will die and be buried.”) The tune and harmonies are borrowed from a passage in my piece Selections from “The Song of Songs” for male voice and band. That piece is dedicated to my wife, Ruth, hence the connection. If that were not enough, our daughter is named Naomi! The Song of Ruth closes with a recapitulation of the music from the opening, but with New words assigned to it, and with the soprano soloist providing a descant for it. (“May the Lord cause ill fate to befall me, and more, if anything but death separates me and you.”) Appropriat... less
