About the musicians:
Gavin Roberts is Kingston Choral Society’s piano accompanist. He enjoys a varied career as a pianist, organist and conductor. He has appeared at Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, as well as at festivals in the UK and abroad. He is a professor and staff pianist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is the Artistic Director of Song in the City
David Syrus was Head of Music at the Royal Opera House from 1993 until his retirement in 2017. He conducted numerous works for the Company, including operas by Mozart, Wagner, Richard Strauss, Verdi, Bizet, Britten and Beethoven. In his role as Head of Music, David worked closely with the Royal Opera creative teams and provided coaching for singers and conductors. less
