Among the many figures carved on medieval cathedrals, one may find examples of foliate heads—a figure in which leafy foliage sprouts and elaborately ornaments a frieze, façade, or column. This figure is known as "The Green Man" and was mainly a northern European and Celtic symbol of the regeneration of life, a symbol of May, and the return of spring. It is a registered charity centred around the Kenfig Hill community of South Wales, UK. We also have two associated youth choirs 'Da Capo' and 'Crescendo'. The choir's history stretches back to 1896, with a few gaps. The latest incarnation was re-founded in 1972.
