It was established in Rome (Italy) with the aim of promoting and encouraging Musical activities and the practice of choral singing. The Choir has taken part or organized more than 800 concerts, shows and Musical events in churches and places of culture in Rome, Italy and abroad. It took part in choral competitions, celebrations, weddings and commemorations. The Choir sings mostly a cappella and its repertoire ranges from sacred and spiritual Music to popular Music and from 16th century polyphony to choral works by contemporary authors, focusing especially on Italian composers.  less

We ...  moreThe Island Consort Chamber Choir is a 20-voice community chamber Choir that first appeared in concert in late April 2007. Its repertoire is varied and loosely “classical”, focusing on sacred and secular Music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. We rehearse Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. This is an auditioned group with considerable Musical and choral experience, one that aspires to a higher standard of performance. Our members include amateur and professional Musicians, Choir directors and Music educators. Prospective members may audition from time to time as positions come open. Contact the Choir if you have an interest in joining. We perform mostly a cappella pieces, but many of our concerts include accompaniment by members of the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and organ.  less

This Choir is partnered with a non-profit organization called the New York Community Alliance for Sickle Cell Anemia Inc. We plan to use our concert venues for aiding this organization's cause. Our conductor John Hunter II is a young but competent conductor. He received his Master's in Choral Conducting from Mansfield University. It specializes in choral and early Music—notably Renaissance, Baroque, and rarely heard repertoire—and is dedicated to delivering emotionally resonant, historically informed performances. Winner of the Chorus America/ASCAP Alice Parker Award, Crescendo invites choral singers to audition for its 22nd season.This season, our repertoire spans 16th-century motets, works by Johann Sebastian Bach, and contemporary Music in the Piazzolla style, featuring the U.S. premiere of Martín Palmeri’s A Jewish Cantata (2022). We aim to give two or three concerts each year, plus a Christmas concert of Music and readings. We are based in the village of Rolleston-on-Dove near Burton-upon-Trent, and draw our members – numbering around 50 at present - from a wide area of East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire.
