We are specifically aimed at experienced singers who want to work quickly in a non-regular rehearsal setting. Imagine a Book Club for Choral singers! Each session every two or three weeks, we will look at a couple of new songs, chosen by differend members of the group, from the whole history of music, form Monvererdi to Madness. We have two experienced conductor/singers who will be happy to lead any session, but all singers will be encouraged to lead their own song choices if they wish. The aim, in the first intance, is to have fun exploring as much Choral repertoire as possible, in a fun and collaborative enviroment. We do not intend to book up concerts straight away - once we've had a few meetings and looked at enough repertoire then we'll think about performances. Let's work to get the music right first! It commits to significantly contribute to the nurturance of the country’s Choral tradition. Its vision is to become the country's premiere all-male Chorale, exemplifying the best of the Filipino: excellence, discipline and a flair for entertainment. Inspired by the global spirit and nationalistic dedication of the great ilustrado men during Spanish colonial times, the choir is slowly building a repertoire that includes the best of local and global all-male Choral music. A member of the Madz et al network of choirs, it is composed of men who had extensive Choral singing backgrounds through their college, church and community/parish choir experiences. During the tenure...  moreThe ROYAL COLLEGE CHOIR, which traces its origins back to St. Paul’s Church, Wolvendhal where Royal College itself was formed in 1835 It was made part of the Western Music Society of Royal College with its formation in the year 1919. During the tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed the Choir won the prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200. The College Anthem ‘School of our Fathers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on the 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving the College Anthem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with the support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq. The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, the most significant out of which being the Annual Carol Service. It is currently trained by the eminent Ms. Sureka Amerasinghe.  less
