The Major Minors Children's Choir were awarded the HVCS Children's Chorus Cup in the Hutt Valley Performing Arts Society Open Choir Category competition held on Wednesday 17 July 2013 in Lower Hutt, New Zealand.
We did it! We bet last year's score and took out the category. The Judge had wonderful comments to say about our singing.
The Major Minors Children's Choir was established last year- current members are aged 4-12. The all comers choir had been rehearsing these songs for several weeks and knew all their lyrics off by heart. The children loved being on stage and performing.
For some of our choir members it was their first opportunity to sing with us and they all did brilliantly. Not only that but their behaviour backstage and in the wings before they performed was wonderful.

This was so much fun to watch! I loved your enthusiasm and articulation. Great to see lots of choir members taking solos!
A Place in the Choir
I was so impressed to hear some 2 part harmonies here - it's not easy to hold a part! Well done everybody. I also loved the clapping - it added another level of enthusiasm. Great contrasts in this song - louds & softs, rhythmic section - don't forget to watch your conductor, she's there to help you!
