FilCoro is the professional arm of the Wellington Filipino Community Choir and is managed by Exceptional Communications. FilCoro is short for Filipino Coro (Spanish for Chorus). The name reflects the Choir's mixed ethnic heritage.

As the introduction states, Eric Whitacre's famous "Sleep" was originally composed to Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", but when Whitacre realized the Frost estate was not releasing permission for musical settings of the poem, Charles Silvestri wrote the poem "Sleep" around the music Whitacre had written. To honor the inspiration the poem gave Mr. Whitacre, and to further honor all poets who inspire choral composers, we presented this beloved piece with the original Frost lyrics.  less
