We welcome experienced SATB singers who are keen to perform Music of all genres to a high standard in an informal environment. Our ethos: CONTEXT Historical, social and environmental contexts of Music, and the influence of these on performance, will be central to rehearsals and concerts. They will define the themes of our repertoire each year. COLLABORATION Based in Leeds, the Choir has numerous opportunities to collaborate with other ensembles, composers and charities to promote and support Musicians throughout the North. We hope to work with a variety of Musicians to develop quality and future collaboration within the Choir. COMMUNICATION No Music?! Yes, we will perform without sheet Music in concerts. The group named DEKOR Chamber Choir is composed of experienced choral singers from various parts of Slovenia, who in the past used to sing in renowned Slovene and some foreign Vocal ensembles. Driven by the desire of thorough preparation of quality choral projects, the Choir works under the leadership of Slovene and foreign guest conductors. The Choir prepared their inaugural concert, entitled In the Beginning, in cooperation with young Finnish conductor Dani Juris The topic of creation coincided not only with the central composition of the concert, Copland’s In the Beginning, but also with the Choir’s first public appearance and presentation of the concept of their work. Among the carefully selected works by Slovene and other authors, three were performed in Slovenia for the first time: Aaron Copland’s In the Beginning, Cyrillus Kreek’s Onnis on inimene (Blessed be the Man) and Ole Gjeilo’s Unicornis captivatur (Captured Unicorn). The Choir was found in April 1994 and called after the central street of Kiev. The Choir acquired the status of ‘municipal’ in 1999, and has been financed by the Kievan Mayor’s Office since then. In December 2009, the ensemble became ‘academic’. From February 2011 the official name “Khreschatyk” Academic Chamber Choir. Honoured Art Worker of Ukraine Larisa Bukhonskaya was the Choir founder and its Artistic Director until 2007. Since August 2007, after winning a representative contest, Pavel Struts, previously a long-standing Coryphaeus, became the Choir’s Artistic Director. The Honorary title of Distinguished Artist of Ukraine was awarded to Pavel Struts in December 2009.  less
