The work is a melancholic love song that is based on a folk like melody underlined by a constant pedal point, resembling the sound of bagpipes.

A perennial competitor on the international stage, The Alliance Chorus has qualified for the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) International Competition every year since its’ formation in 1999. Ever “In Tune With Excellence”, The Alliance competed this past Summer in Las Vegas finishing 15th in the world, and in previous years has finished as high as 4th place! In addition to the competition circuit, The Alliance Chorus also has had many opportunities to give back and perform for the community. We give you the pleasure of enjoying Fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team...  moreThe Mishawum Choral Society is a community chorus for experienced singers with a love of choral music who wish to rehearse and sing in our concerts. We give you the pleasure of enjoying Fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential new members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect new members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. The choir is bilingual English and Spanish with a truly international membership. formado por cuatro mujeres de un coro que cerró. Estamos afrontando los retos de empezar de nuevo. Tenemos un director coral magnífico que está sacando lo mejor de nosotras. No hay audición: solo amor por cantar. Somos una mezcla de personas con mucha experiencia y otras sin experiencia. El coro es bilingüe inglés y español con una membresía verdaderamente internacional.  less
