We are a mixed-voice Choir of around 30 singers, performing a wide variety of secular and sacred "classical"; Choral music. We mainly sing a cappella, and tend to focus on lesser-known older works, and modern repertoire, often from living composers. However, this is by no means exclusive! The Choir sings three main Concerts per year, with a charity carol Concert just before Christmas. We are also a sociable bunch, with regular social events and a number of 'spin-off' groups.  less

Following The move in 1983 into The West End of Glasgow The Choir was renamed Glasgow Lyric Choir. ​ Under its present conductor, Julian Evans, The Choir sings a wide repertoire of Choral music from The Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods and traditional Scots and Gaelic songs. We are a mixed voice Choir numbering around 30 at present. ​ We gave two Concerts in Glasgow during The 2017-2018 season: in December we presented a Christmas programme and in June we gave a Concert featuring a selection of music from The movies. However, in April we also gave two Concerts in Italy, The first in Barga (including a Vivaldi Credo and Scottish songs) and The second in Milan where we joined forces with Canti Corum to sing Dvorak’s Mass in D. ​ Choir members enjoy many social as well as musical events togeTher. This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in The Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra Concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, The SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined The senior and chamber Choirs in Their 2009 tour to The UK. We are a music group from Tembisa, in Gauteng. The group was founded in 2020 and it hosted it first event in October 2020. We released our first single track with Umlazi Levites Choir on 26 March 2021. We are available on all major social media platforms.
