We provide music for all occasions, such as private parties, corpo...  moreClearly Vocal is a five-member a cappella vocal group from Tyler, Texas, performing a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, pop, holiday, love songs, classical, secular and sacred. We provide music for all occasions, such as private parties, corporate functions, weddings, birthdays, etc., with a varied repertoire in the style of The Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices, The Real Group, Singers Unlimited, The Swingle Singers, Take Six and others. Clearly Vocal was selected as one of seven groups to compete in the 2010 Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes in Denver, Colorado. As winners of the 2010 Contemporary A Cappella League Showcase, Clearly Vocal was a featured group at the SoJam A Cappella Festival in Durham, North Carolina, November 12 & 13, 2010.  less

Our society is a real opportunity for people to get the most from singing. We have a great musical director, immensely skilled and fun to sing for. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the music of all kinds of different styles, how to sin...  moreOur society is a real opportunity for people to get the most from singing. We have a great musical director, immensely skilled and fun to sing for. Every rehearsal gives us something to discover about the music of all kinds of different styles, how to sing, communication with the audience , keeping time, tuning, rhythm etc. The choir works with musically trained people and Singers entirely new to singing; some read music and some not. We give great concerts, sometimes of classics such as Elijah (Nov 2012), madrigals, anthems, and lighter music such as the delightful Noah and his Floating Zoo. Like all choirs however we need more Singers to keep the choir progressing. We are therefore expanding the ways we reach out to people who might like to give singing a try, or who would like to return to singing after a break, perhaps to have a family or because of a house move. We are based in Chicago's western suburbs. ECU performs two major concerts each season with full professional orchestra musicians and pro soloists, and also a mini-concert of our Singers in solos and duets with piano. We often appear as featured guest artists with Elmhurst Symphony and in local appearances. Our outstanding volunteer Singers come from throughout the Chicago area for a unique musical experience. Our conductor James MacDonald has directed choirs and orchestras throughout the U.S. and overseas, and teaches conducting and music theory. We sing Original compositions by Juliet Russell who conducts the choir and is also our solo performer. Aside from Juliet's original material we sing a mix of traditional Gospel, African and Eastern European Music. The Choir consists of male and female Singers of all ages who simply love to sing. No auditions required and no need to read sheet music we learn by ear. New songs are added every term to our repertoire and we perform regularly at everything from weddings to local festivals.  less
