The University Singers have performed throughout the world, and have sung with a variety of professional orchestras including the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra under the batons of conductors such as Carl St.Clair, John Mauceri, John Williams, and Keith Lockhart. Internationally acclaimed for their exquisite musicianship, they have been invited to perform at conferences organized by the American Choral Directors Association and the Music Educators National Conference. Requiem was later performed at the funerals and commemorative services of Ludwig van Beethoven, Joseph Haydn, and Frédéric Chopin. This auditioned choir has 150 adult mixed Voices and 300 youth mixed Voices rehearsing weekly to bring various masterworks, original pieces, collaborations and new arrangements to the ears of many. Doug Mears is the Artistic Director with Patrick Vaughn as Youth Director. Youth Choruses have two convenient campuses with the professional support of Caroline Crocker and Bonny Tynch and Youth Chorus Directors. Additionally, full time accompanists and music educators meet the rehearsal and music education portions of this semi-professional chorus. FCS is honored to work with renown musicians, conductors and orchestras to present the finest choral programs available. Sometimes we join other choruses to produce even larger musical works.
