The repertoire of Cancioneta Praga is very broad. It includes not only old-time compositions but also music of the 20th century, as well as carols from around the world and the Czech Republic, a selection of Czech folk songs and folk songs from around the world. The choir is also able to perform different styles of music, e.g. pop-music.
Apart from its own concerts Cancioneta Praga cooperates with notable Czech choirs, orchestras and musicians (e.g. PKF - Prague Philharmonia, Prague Chamber Orchestra without Conductor, Musica Bohemica, The Czech Boys Choir, Orchestra of the Czech Armed Forces, harp player Jana Boušková, guitar virtuoso Lubomír Brabec, pianist Lukáš Klánský, composers Jaroslav Krček and Martin Hendrych, conductors Marek Šedivý, Jan Kučera, Vojtěch Spurný, Jakub Martinec, famous Czech group Chinaski). Cancioneta Praga records for the television and radio and has also produced two CDs – Enchanting Christmas and The Gospel Train Is Coming.
Cancioneta Praga is regularly invited to international festivals such as Young Prague, Praga Cantat and others. In exceptional cases the choir may be joined by male voices as well. During its period of existence in the musical field, Cancioneta Praga has won two international festivals. The choir brought home the "audience's most favourite choir award" and the trophy for absolute victory from Malgrat de Mar, Spain, in 2010. The same success was reached in 2012, when the choir became champion of the festival of contemporary choir music, Canti Veris Praga. The choir has been on several concert tours abroad (Germany 2011, 2014, 2018, Hungary 2015, Republic of South Africa 2016).
The patrons of the choir are Miroslava Němcová – the former head of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, conductor Jakub Hrůša and harpist Jana Boušková. less
