DCMVC rehearses Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at St Osmund's Church, London road Derby. the choir is also available to book for events. For more information, see our website.

Using the simple view that a good song is a good song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. the choir delights in introducing new songs that are connected by their unique choral sound, rather than from a particular genre and it is this wide appeal and their sense of fun that has meant the group is in constant demand and continually attracts new members. Even in its early days the choir never quite conformed to the accepted Norms of what should be included in their repertoire. However, this in No way hindered its appeal and it went on to win a number and prestigious competitions including one of the largest Eisteddfods for male choirs in Wales, an award for services to the arts from Chelmsford City Council and passed the advanced choral singing examination of the Associated Board of the Royal College of Music Successive musical directors contributed the choir`s ...    None';">less

We rehearse every Tuesday, 6:30pm-9:00pm, in central London between Kings Cross and St Paul's. We are also aiming at focusing more on choral projects and concerts than competitions so that our singers enjoy singing and get compensated for engaging in the choir. Over the past 12 years, we have trained five generations of young performers from across the school as part of our extra-curricular music programme. Specialising in acappella African vocals, our performances are enhanced with dynamic percussion and traditional dance. Many arrangements are created by the group's Musical Director, Mr Steve Cook, and by the students themselves. Our repertoire includes a range of traditional and contemporary African songs in a variety of languages.
