  The year started with bright hope for a promising great year, yet the treat of a deadly virus lingered in our ears. In February, COVID caused some concern in America as people were being warned of the implications the virus could bring when it came from overseas.
  
  By March, our government told us we needed to stay home as the virus was deadly to all age groups and almost impossible to avoid. Most necessities, like toilet paper and cleaning products, were gone from the shelves of all stores making people worry how fighting this treat would be possible. Throughout the country, several people offered to help neighbors, friends, and family as they self-quarantined and socially distanced from each, as we were told it was our best defense against the upcoming pandemic.
  
  During quarantine, some people started riots for an unrelated cause, Black Lives Matter. This movement has an ongoing struggle in our nation as the group battles for equality in society. Monuments, buildings, and lives were destroyed this year during the riots across the US.
  
  As a result of the pandemic and flair ups of a struggling society, people are hungry, homeless, and mentally lost. However, Christ gives us the promise of hope in all of our trying times, just as He did for Joseph, Job, Daniel, and many other examples in the Bible.
  
  Take your worries to Him, and allow His light to shine through in your life.
