His refashioned version with the famous Latin text Ubi caritas et amor was commissioned by Prince William and premiered by the choirs of Westminster Abbey and Her Majesty's Chapel Royal, conducted by James O'Donnell, at the Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Mealor uses a combination of a plainchant style and misleading harmonic suspensions similar to those of Eric Whitacre or Morten Lauridsen. This performance was recorded during our concert "Maria, Madre della Speranza" at San Martino Church in Bollate, Italy. We were joined by Coro Laboratorio Armonico, with Lorenzo Marchesi (piano), Christian Cerri (guitar), and conductor Graziano De Zen. We welcome feedback and exchanges with other choirs!
