The opening passage is: “Border, sanctuary, asylum, bridges not walls.” The text draws from (and paraphrases) several sources: contemporary media, Emma Lazarus’ “The New Colossus,” the Bible’s Matthew 25:31-40, currency, and others. The changing meters of “Border” fill the work with an uptempo, rhythmic energy that propels it forward. “Border” is a call for justice, empathy and compassion, a summons to our collective conscience. It is appropriate for ensembles at the community, collegiate, and advanced high school levels. “timely… It is a call for humanity.” - Susan Glass, Glass Menagerie Chorus, NY a “powerful statement” - Dr. Heather Mitchell less

They soon found a community of Singers who are equally passionate about the energy and intimacy of chamber choral music performed at a high caliber.
Although we perform throughout Rhode Island and beyond, we are delighted to be ensemble-in-residence at Grace Church Providence, which generously provides rehearsal and performance space, and serves as our fiscal sponsor. less

Homechoir is a New way of learning music. You don’t need to be an accomplished singer to take part. Homechoir members watch and sing along with Ben - teaching is one-way so nobody can hear us but the neighbours! - and are also invited to take part in the live text chat with Ben and with fellow Singers around the world. There is a vibrant and friendly social community among the choir.
If you can’t join in live, then you can still enjoy the music-making at any time. All our sessions remain available on YouTube after the live streams end for watching on catch-up when you can, and as often as you like.
It is not necessary to be able to read music, and where scores are needed, Ben will display them on screen to help you learn. As well as traditional and Classical choral pieces, Ben teaches a huge range of ot... less
