It is a medley of three 19th century songs—"Dixie", a minstrel song that became the unofficial anthem of the Confederacy since the Civil War; "All My Trials", originally a Bahamian lullaby, but closely related to African American spirituals, and well-known through folk music revivalists. Sung as part of a concert at St. Johns Church, Keynsham, on 6th April 2013 to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association.  less

We have a simple philosophy, we all love to sing but we want to do it in a professional way without the rigid formality and structure of traditional male voice choirs. We love to sing and perform a wide range of musical styles from pop and rock to classical standards. If it is good music we will sing it. On Saturday 8th March 2014 the Taunton Deane male voice choir joined us for a concert in Weston-super-Mare. Proceeds from the event were in aid of the Weston Hospicecare charity which celebrates its 25th birthday this year.

The choir is conducted by Paul Robinson and rehearses every Wednesday at the Gillingham Golf Club at 8pm. The choir is currently looking for new members; the ability to read music is not essential, however, it is helpful and can be very useful. The choir welcomes anyone who has a passion for singing. Like most traditional male voice choirs we learn all of our pieces from memory and do not use copies. The choir has a wide-ranging repertoire from West End showstoppers to opera, religious and traditional choral music. The choir has gained a reputation for doing many concerts for charity and have raised a lot of money over the years for a number of different causes. The choir has performed twice at the Royal Albert Hall with over one hundred choirs in the Festival of Brass and voices for cancer research UK. The choir has made several tours both at home and abroad and has raised thousands of pounds for charity totaling nearly £3000 in the past year alone  less
