As well as recording themselves, Choir members have provided pictures which inspire them to illustrate this new video.  

Formed in 1956 as the Derby Police Choir, the Choir retained a long-standing connection with the Derbyshire Constabulary until 2018 when the Choir separated from the police and rebranded with an emphasis on promoting Male voice choral singing and raising ...  moreFormed in 1956 as the Derby Police Choir, the Choir retained a long-standing connection with the Derbyshire Constabulary until 2018 when the Choir separated from the police and rebranded with an emphasis on promoting Male voice choral singing and raising money for charity- epitomised through charity registration in 2020. DCMVC rehearses Mondays 7:30-9:30pm at St Osmund's Church, London Road Derby. The Choir is also available to book for events. For more information, see our website.

The Choir is truly representative of the force with a...  moreThe Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir was formed in 1974 following the amalgamation of the Bath and Somerset, Bristol and the South Gloucester part of the Gloucestershire Constabulary. The Choir is truly representative of the force with a membership consisting almost entirely of serving and retired police officers, serving and retired members of the support staff and the special constabulary. We want to maintain the tradition of choral singing in a pleasant social environment and we do so under the professional leadership and tuition of our musical director Alison Howell, accompanist Julie Payne and deputy accompanist Gemma Leach. We also want to share that musical tradition with the community, raise funds for local organisations and to act as ambassadors for the force. Away from the formal concerts however there is nothing the members like better than to sing and impromptu performances have taken place on cross channel ferries, in motorway services and in the odd pub or two. We are a registered charity and normally raise many thousands of pounds for both local and national charities through our concerts. We have links with Choirs in Italy and Germany and we meet with these Choirs every couple of years for a musical event that we call Harmony in Europe
