“I breathed a song into the air, it fell to earth I knew not wHere.” Ten years ago, I wrote a composition called Always Keep This Close with little idea of wHere it would go or what it would come to mean for others. to find that song living in the Hearts of other musicians is both humbling and surprising. English Translation:
Give and TAKE
A little Give and Take upholds a friendship.
You have beds to sell,
I have beddings to buy.
Neighbors are family,
Good riddles make good friends.
The knIfe may be sharp, it never scrapes its handle.
Those who always share never die of hunger.
Long lives Diplomacy! Long lives Fraternity!

Haitian Creole text:
Men ale - Men vini, sa kenbe lamitye.
Ou gen kabann pou vann,
Mwen gen dra pou achte.
Vwazinay se fanmi,
Bon kont fè bon zanmi.
Kouto mèt byen file, li pa grate manch li.
Moun ki konn pataje pap janm mouri grangou.
Vive la Diplomatie! Vive la Fraternité!
