However, the existence of a primary form of the choir conducted by Agesilaos Papantoniou and then Ioannis Kottoros in succession is traced in 1930s.
Since its foundation the choir has had an exclusive and leading position in the parish ecclesiastical Music, and, like Saint Alexander’s Church, follows the eastern orthodox doctrine and comes under the Holy Metropolis of Nea Smyrni. Both the choir and the former conductor Ioannis Kottoros have been awarded several times;
recently, in 2005, they were honoured with the Golden Cross of Apostle Paul by His Beatitude the late Archbishop of Athens and all Greece, Christodoulos.

Crossover projects are the hallmark of the Sonux Ensemble. Together with the jazz-saxophonist Stefan Kuchel and the Sirius Quartet, the young men's choir performs contemporary works. The Quartet members describe themselves as artists of improvisation who break out of the conventional vocabulary of sound for a string quartet. Most pieces on this CD were written especially for the Sonux Ensemble, and thus composed to the singers' strengths. "We have worked on these pieces together with the composers, and given them their first performances over the course of the last five years. This disc features only world premiere recordings and, literally, unheard of choral Music, " the choir's director Hans-Joachim Lustig notes.
The works recorded on this CD focus on the topics of light and love. The eponymous poem by Charles Anthony Silvestri that lends its title to the disc frames and connects the two topics. Silvestri wrote the text in 2012, exclusively for this project. Hans-Joachim L... less
