Our program has grown to 3 vocal jazz ensembles. The music we perform represents a crossover of the jazz and popular music idioms. The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform music by professional vocal ensembles, arrangements by well-known vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular music standards (both through the ensemble and in private coachings).  display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

As part of the Vocal Art ensemble's May 2011 concert "Cloudburst--Sounds of Nature" is "Tres Cantos Nativos", a collection of three Krao Indian songs arranged by Marco Leite. As this piece was meant to represent the early beginnings of human civilization ...  display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">moredisplay:none;">As part of the Vocal Art ensemble's May 2011 concert "Cloudburst--Sounds of Nature" is "Tres Cantos Nativos", a collection of three Krao Indian songs arranged by Marco Leite. As this piece was meant to represent the early beginnings of human civilization and the birth of language, we have staged the piece in a somewhat tribal way and added jungle sound effects.
