The group was founded in 2008 by three of Carrington’s former students who shared the desire to form an elite professional vocal chamber ensemble under his direction. SCCS, an ensemble of 24 Singers, performs a diverse and challenging repertoire that spans the ages. The ensemble performs with Jon Washburn and the Vancouver Chamber Choir on three or four concert programmes each season and also presents one or two independent concerts with its own conductor. Pacifica Singers provides an ideal performance venue for experienced and motivated choral Singers whose goal is to make music at a very high level. By providing direct exposure to the world of professional music making, it is an experience of great value for Singers intending to make a career in music. Current members live throughout the lower mainland, with many serving as conductors, music educators, and/or professional Singers in their communities.  less

In these few years, the Young all-girls choir has grown from strength to strength. Since June 2009, under the direction of their conductor, Mr Darius Lim, the choir has garnered numerous accolades and awards to their name. In 2010 the choir won the Gold Award at the 3rd Orientale Concentus International Choral Competition in Yilan, Taiwan. The choir was also Category Winner and was one of four choirs to be invited to compete in the grand finals. In 2011 the choir attained their first Silver award at the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Choirs. In the same year they came in 2nd at the National A Capella Championships. The choir has also collaborated with numerous national ensembles such as the Singapore Police Force Band and Choir and the Singapore Armed Forces Band.
