The No 1 mixed choir in Lithuania Founded in 2009, mixed voices Bel Canto choir Vilnius is officially confirmed as the best volunteer choir in Lithuania. The choir unites more than 60 singers, who have extensive singing experience in various choirs in Lithuania, and whose desire is to have quality leisure time and enjoy one of life’s most pleasant activities – singing. Their goal is to sing different styles of music and work with various other groups, present high quality musical projects, as well as take part in competitions and festivals in Lithuania and abroad. On December 1, 2013, Bel Canto choir Vilnius rocked the country’s choral music scene and accomplished unthinkable. During the fourth year of its existence, the choir won the Lithuania’s major National Choral Competition, thus becoming the best volunteer choir in the country. We range in age from 18 to 75. We strive to inspire singers, audiences and community through the beauty and power of diverse chorale music. We perform four major concerts per year, including a holiday program, a classical performance with orchestra, and a spring pops concert.  

We are a mixed voice choir singing a variety of musical styles including classical, pop, musicals, sacred and Scottish songs. Members' ages range from teenagers to octogenarians. To date we have recorded over 30 albums and raised over £1.5 million for charity.

Vi arbeider med et variert repertoar med stor spennvidde. Det dekker alt frå religiøs musikk til drikkeviser. Gammal og ny musikk, shanty, jazz - inspirert, negro spirituals og elles dei tradisjonelle mannskorverka. Mange forbinder mannskor med 17. mai og gamle tradisjonelle sanger. Os Mannskor stiller villig opp 17. mai med nasjonale musikkskatter, men det er likevel bare en liten del av et frodig bilde. Vi er ikke opptatt av båser når det gjelder musikk. Om den er gammel eller ny, lett eller seriøs, spiller mindre rolle. Det avgjørende er at musikken framføres best mulig og fenger publikum. Oppga...    less
