From breakfast on through all the day At home among my friends I stay, But every night I go abroad Afar into the land of Nod. All by myself I have to go, With none to tell me what to do — All alone beside the streams And up the mountain-sides of dreams. The strangest things are there for me, Both things to eat and things to see, And many frightening sights abroad Till morning in the land of Nod. The sky is round and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind in its' greatest power whirls. Birds make their nests in circles; for their's is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing and always come back to where they were. The life of a man is a circle, from childhood to childhood. and so it is with everything where power moves.  less
