We have sung this song in another arrangement many times in concert with Steve Knightley and Show of Hands. This new version by Kirsten Pagel, is for a Female quartet, with rich dark harmonies and a tender, aching feel. We dedicate it to all who have passed through war, both in the past and unfortunately now, in the present. We also sing it for those within our communities that have recently lost a loved one. It has been such a difficult time to be grieving. We sing it for you to remember the best times, the friendship and the comradery and most of all, for the love that you shared together. Klein, A. Koerppen, F. Farcas and many others more. Some of the works have been specially composed for HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen. At the same time the choir dedicates itself to oratorioes usually performed together with the Female choir “Dzintars” Riga / Latvia. Numerous concert tours and participations in international festivals took the HARMONIE to Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, USA and Wales. In Wales the choir won first prize in the male choir category at the International “Eisteddfod” Llangollen in 1995 and 2007(second prize in 2003). Ira Spaulding, born in New York, studied with Robert Simpson at Westminster choir College in Princeton, New Jersey (Bachelor of Music) and also holds a Master of Music in Voice and Choral Conducting from Eastern Kentucky University. He gave numerous recitals in America as well as having taught voice, conducting, vocal pedagogy and literature at several colleges and conducted various vocal ensembles (community oratorio choirs, church choirs, boys choirs and a jazz vocal ensemble). He currently serves on the faculty at City College of New York where he teaches voice, conducting and leads vocal ensembles and choirs.  less

Weekly sessions, under the instruction of a highly enthusiastic and experienced Natural Voice Practitioner and registered British Voice Association teacher, will provide opportunities for you to sing in harmony, discover new techniques and to improve your Musicality, understanding and appreciation of Music. With your newly found confidence you will tackle more complicated and challenging Musical arrangements and enjoy hearing the finished result – just for pleasure! Whilst we “work” hard these sessions are enjoyable social events. there is discipline and structure but also fun, laughter and a strong sense of teamwork as we rehearse songs from a variety of genres, performing new Musical arrangements to suit a variety of tastes.
