For more than 100 years now the male choir HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen with its 90 singers presents high-quality choir Music. The choir’s extensive repertoire covers all periods of vocal Music and the 20th. century, among them choral works composed by R.R. ...  moreFor more than 100 years now the male choir HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen with its 90 singers presents high-quality choir Music. The choir’s extensive repertoire covers all periods of vocal Music and the 20th. century, among them choral works composed by R.R. Klein, A. Koerppen, F. Farcas and many others more. Some of the works have been specially composed for HARMONIE Lindenholzhausen. At the same time the choir dedicates itself to oratorioes usually performed together with the female choir “Dzintars” Riga / Latvia. Numerous concert tours and participations in international festivals took the HARMONIE to Austria, the Czech Republic, Egypt, England, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, USA and Wales. In Wales the choir won first prize in the male choir category at the International “Eisteddfod” Llangollen in 1995 and 2007(second prize in 2003). Ira Spaulding, born in New York, studied with Robert Simpson at Westminster choir College in Princeton, New Jersey (Bachelor of Music) and also holds a Master of Music in Voice and Choral Conducting from Eastern Kentucky University. He gave numerous recitals in America as well as having taught voice, conducting, vocal pedagogy and literature at several colleges and conducted various vocal ensembles (community oratorio choirs, church choirs, boys choirs and a jazz vocal ensemble). He currently serves on the faculty at City College of New York where he teaches voice, conducting and leads vocal ensembles and choirs.  less

The East Central University Department of Music as part of the School of Fine Arts is housed in the beautiful Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center. The Department has over two hundred participating students of which approximately half are Music majors. We have eighteen faculty members and are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
