It is composed and directed by youths who though come from various sectors in society share the same passion….love for music. They venture into old and contemporary music, going through each piece in bits and pieces, in its history, in its interpretation, in its message! Their dedication and constant development, thanks to their musical direct or Marouska Attard, has helped them establish as one of the most renowned choirs in Malta. In fact, on ‘The Guardian’ of November 16th, 2010, one of their major productions was listed with the top ten events in Europe, alongside internationally renowned producers and productions. Schola Cantorum Jubilate specialises in the sacred polyphony though on looking at its curriculum vitæ, one finds the choir’s participation in various concerts, operas and tours concerned with secular music. On Saturday 22nd March the choir gave a concert at Westbury on Trym Baptist Church. A select audience were given a well thought out programme including this piece, The Sound of Silence.
