We aim to give two or three concerts each year, plus a Christmas concert of music and readings. We are based in the village of Rolleston-on-Dove near Burton-upon-Trent, and draw our members – numbering around 50 at present - from a wide area of East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire. It has 170 singing members in soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections. Presenting Classical choral music of a professional standard in Yorkshire and elsewhere in Britain, including at the BBC Proms and Manchester Arena, the Chorus is broadcast regularly on BBC Radio 3. The Leeds Festival Chorus was first formed in 1858 (the year Queen Victoria opened the Leeds Town Hall) to sing at the first Leeds Musical Festival, and was reformed for each succeeding one. The Chorus became independent in 1985. It celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2008 with a performance of a specially-commissioned work by Judith Bingham - a world premiere. The choir mai...  moreMarsh Ladies Choir was founded in 1955 and in 2015 will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee. The Yorkshire based choir is around 40 members strong and has developed a wide repertoire from Classical and folk to swing, jazz and songs from the shows. The choir maintains a busy schedule of concerts and competitions both in Huddersfield and further a field.  

We are a mixed voice choir singing a variety of musical styles including Classical, pop, musicals, sacred and Scottish songs. Members' ages range from teenagers to octogenarians. To date we have recorded over 30 albums and raised over £1.5 million for charity.

The choir was founded in 2011 by friends who have spent their lives teaching others to perform, but whom rarely get the chance to sing anymore. Each singer in VanDeca comes from a different musical background, shaping who we are as a group.
