A version for 3 part mixed choir (Soprano, Alto and Men) and organ is also available at: http://dwsolo.musicaneo.com/sheetmusic/sm-185192_mass_for_three_part_mixed_choir_and_organ.html Because of its gently exotic modal flavours, the music was deemed to have a ring of "oriental promise" by one appreciative member of the congregation at the first performance. This setting has been sung in Cathedrals in Manchester, Southwell and Dublin and the Agnus has also featured in services at Christ Church Didsbury. The recording here is the Agnus Dei sung by the Voluntary Choir of Manchester Cathedral during their visit to Southwell Minster.  less

The monumental work Passio by Arvo Pärt is a meditative setting of texts from the Passion according to St. John and is considered as the apotheosis of his writing. The choir consists of school boys (aged 13 -18) currently attending the College. Many choirs have since copied and adapted our 'storm' sequence.

These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's choir singers grew and Voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and Higher, and young men with changed Voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries. We are a fun group of singers that love to worship with our Voices. We strive for excellence and do traditional choir music (hymn based) and contemporary arrangements either with background tracks or a cappella. Lots of opportunities for solo work!
