Through dedication and hard-work SOC has carved for itself a niche and identity of not many but sings like a thousand voices to its audience and the Choral hub in Ghana. Rev. Mr & Mrs Sam Korankye Ankrah, the Apostle General and his wife the Premier Lady of Royalhouse Chapel International, serves as the Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the choir. The choir has two (2) album to its credit namely Kashe Gbeye (Danceable tunes) & Afe Ato Hen (A Christmas Danceable tunes) and several live performances ranging from hymns, anthems, classical etc to its credit. This smallest and most select of the Hofstra choirs comprises the best singers at the University, both within and outside the Department of Music, and focuses on the distinct art of unaccompanied, or a cappella, ensemble singing, presented in carefully chosen performance spaces that are uniquely attuned to celebrate the human voice's potential. From an educational standpoint, the ensemble serves two main functions for the University. First, it acts as a laboratory for Hofstra’s future music educators, both undergraduate and graduate, providing outlets for the exploration of the art of ensemble preparation through the study of the highest-quality choral literature. The choir’s performance is sometimes a cappella, while at other times accompanied by a jazz trio or piano. Sectional rehearsals are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (11 to 11:50AM).
