The school's choir became very successful in The mid-1980s, winning many competitions including The Llangollen Eisteddfod. When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing togeTher as a choir, and The group's achievements included reaching The semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of The Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks. In The 1990's, The choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since Then The choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of The choir, who have been singing togeTher for more than 25 years. Our recent competition successes include winning The Barnardo's National Choir competition in March 2013 and The ladies choir, folk and popular music classes and runner-up with distinction in The sacred music class in The 2012 Mid-Somerset Festival. When founding member Rick Rosen left California in mid-2003 to move back to Bucks County, The original group of west coast singers went on hiatus. In its second life, and with The blessings of The founding Californians, Cordus Mundi was reborn in early 2005 in Bucks County. Now with fifteen Voices, The newest incarnation of Cordus Mundi has The flexibility and versatility to expand The group’s musical exploration into new areas - The repertoire is varied and eclectic, and The group includes two composers and several arrangers. Cordus Mundi draws its repertoire from a wide range of composers and styles, from Dunstable to Duruflé, from Byrd to Bernstein, from Palestrina to Paranjoti, from Brahms to The Beatles, and from Jacob Handl to Edie Hill. The choristers met each oTher during Their nine-year education in fine arts as members of The St. Thomas Boys Choir Leipzig. Today The ensemble consists of tenors Christian Pohlers and Paul Heller as well as basses Felix Hübner, Lucas Heller and Lukas Lomtscher. Their repertoire ranges from late medieval mass songs to modern age works. The five young musicians attach great importance to The works of German Romantic composers, such as Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn Bartholdy, as well as to Their extensive repertoire of church music. The ensemble successfully collaborates with a number of oTher artists, such as The composer Manfred Schlenker(GER), who dedicated his motet Gott wohnt in einem Lichte to The quintet, on a regular basis.
