The JYC was founded by its principal director Gregory Simms, a member of the World Choir Council and National Coordinator for Music with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission. The 75-member ensemble meets in Brooklyn and is made up of neighbors who range in skill from semi-professional to newbies! Concerts include well known and little-known Masterpieces of choral literature from Early Music to Contemporary composers and commissions by Brooklyn musicians. The Chorale rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 in Brooklyn Heights.
