In May, 2013, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the Choir in recording 4 of his pieces. The other three were "Sanctus", "Luminous Night of the Soul", and "Vast Eternal Skies"
This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas II" is from that session, which included a rendition on which the composer later joined the Choir and improvised an accompaniment. In this video the Choir sings the piece in its published (unaccompanied) version.
This was Mr. Gjeilo's second time on our campus, the first was in the spring of 2011, which resulted in 5 videos and a DVD (http://goo.gl/Xld0o)
As of 2013, the CWU Chamber Choir also has recorded videos of the music of Byrd, Monteverdi, Muehleisen, Singh, Victoria, and Rautavaara on YouTube.

Our multicultural members have musical skills ranging from professional to semi professional levels. We learn our parts with precision, thus allowing us to put aside our sheet music and really enjoy the magic of hearing all the harmonies merged for a fine tuned a Cappella sound!
A Cappella is a vocal tradition as old as music itself, has held a prominent place in many musical genres. Blue Fever focuses on jazz and contemporary pop. Derived from the Italian phrase "in the manner of the chapel," a Cappella refers to vocal music performed without any instrumental accompaniment. This definition seems simple at first, but a Cappella is a complex art form that demands precise intonation, exceptional vocal blending, and often, a high degree of innovation. While a Cappella shares some similarities with traditional Choir singing, i... less
