The Choir has 20 experienced singers and performs between four and seven concerts each year, singing a variety of music from classical to light music. C6 is an auditioned acappella group comprised of singers from Chicagoland Voices. When originally formed, C6 had 6 singers. However, we have fluctuated from 5 - 7 over the last few years.

It focuses mainly on contemporary Icelandic music, commissioning at least one major work annually. Hljómeyki has represented Iceland in choral competitions and festivals, and has published 5 CD’s with Icelandic music. In recent years it has frequently collaborated with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Other recent projects include Schnittke’s Concerto for Choir and Rachmaninov’s Vespers. Hljómeyki’s conductor is Marta G. Halldórsdóttir.  less
