It does not meet on a regular basis, but comes together for short, intensive work periods, culminating in performances, or “projects.” The majority of its musicians are recruited from the metropolitan Washington, DC and Baltimore areas, but some come from as far away as New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. We offer high-quality performances of significant choral, and choral-orchestral music, concentrating especially, but not exclusively, on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. We supplement our gifts to the community with unique experiences, such as our “Conversation Concerts.” We also offer advanced training opportunities in our specialized choral and choral-orchestral repertoire for young conductors and singers, through our workshops and performances. is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

We are an adult all-volunteer Chorus with a membership that spans nationalities, generations and professions — united by a Passion for music and singing. Some of our members have had a lifetime of music and choral experience; others are only just beginning to discover the joy of singing. Whichever stage our members are experiencing in their personal musical journeys, the IFC is filled with enriching opportunities to learn and grow both as musicians and as individuals. The IFC is committed to sharing our love for music and choral singing with the community through two formal concerts a year and additional performances at private and public events. is).getParent().getPrevious().style.display='';$(this).getParent().style.display='none';">less

Performed by the Chamber Singers and Men's Auxiliary ensembles of the Girl Choir of South Florida. Artistic Director: Wallis Peterson, Accompanist: Gayle Giese. What sweeter music can we bring, Than a carol, for to sing The birth of this our heavenly King? Awake the voice! Awake the string! Dark and dull night, fly hence away, And give the honor to this day, That sees December turned to May. Why does the chilling Winter's morn Smile, like a field beset with corn? Or smell like a meadow newly shorn, Thus, on the sudden? come and see The cause, why things thus fragrant be: 'Tis He is born, whose quick'ning birth Gives life and luster, public mirth, To heaven, and the under-earth. We see Him come, and know Him ours, Who, with His sunshine, and His showers, Turns all the patient ground to flowers.
