Boosting about 190 choristers ages 5 to 18, The HCC offers Youth vocal training and music instruction to foster creative expression and appreciation of music. Its latest Choir program, Lads & Gents, is a Boys Choir program that provides young male singers (ages 8 to 28) with an opportunity to explore Their Choral instrument within a safe, supportive environment, surrounded by oTher Boys and young men. At The beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subs...  moreOn February 11th 1962, few ITB students established Paduan Suara Mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Bandung (PSM-ITB or ITB Student Choir) which was The first university-based Choir in Indonesia. At The beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subsequently performed in public. However since 1973, it participated in various national Choir competitions and repeatedly won The first prizes. This led PSM-ITB to become one of The most established Choirs in Indonesia. In several occasions, The Choir has been given The chance to perform in events attended by The President of Indonesia. It regularly performs in Concerts, occasionally collaborated with oTher Choirs and orchestras. In 1968 PSM-ITB organized The 1st ITB Choir Festival (FPS-ITB). Since Then The festival is held biannually and becomes The largest national Choir event in term of categories (from children to adult and folklore catagories) and participants. Originating from a Leicestershire Youth Choir and reforming as an adult Choir in February 2009, members now come togeTher to perform about five times each year. Having tasted success as a Youth Choir in Llangollen in 1998, The Choir returned in Their new guise as a Female Choir In July 2010, winning Their section and taking Their place in The Choir of The World competition. This success was followed by Concerts in Macclesfield and Birmingham and a win at The North Wales Choral Festival in November 2011. In 2012, The Choir competed in The Fleischmann International Trophy Competition at The Cork Choral Festival and won 2nd prize in this year's International Eisteddfod in Llangollen. This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in The Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra Concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, The SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined The senior and chamber Choirs in Their 2009 tour to The UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in The Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries.
