Established during the spring of 2011 De Heeren (translated as "the gentlemen") are the latest ensemble of the Netherlands. De Heeren consists of 8 men, most of whom study at the Fontys Conservatoire in Tilburg. What sets this group apart is that is has musical as well as classical trained singers. Due to this wide variety of musical diversity of this group it allows for a broad selection of repertoire. The choristers met each other during their nine-year education in fine arts as members of the St. Thomas Boys Choir Leipzig. Today the ensemble consists of tenors Christian Pohlers and Paul Heller as well as basses Felix Hübner, Lucas Heller and Lukas Lomtscher. Their repertoire ranges from late medieval mass songs to modern age works. The five young musicians attach great importance to the works of German Romantic composers, such as Schubert, Schumann and Mendelssohn Bartholdy, as well as to their extensive repertoire of church music. The ensemble successfully collaborates with a number of other artists, such as the composer Manfred Schlenker(GER), who dedicated his motet Gott wohnt in einem Lichte to the quintet, on a regular basis. Volker Bräutigam wrote several pieces for them to perform during the festivities at the 35th Leipziger Jazztage. As well as attending weekly rehearsals, the members of this ensemble are committed to music studies and/or voice training. They also participate in a variety of wonderful performance opportunities, recordings and a touring program. Brisbane Birralee voices is acknowledged on home shores and abroad as one of Australia's finest children's choirs. The program encourages young singers to develop their vocal technique and attain musical excellence and there is a strong focus on nurturing the individual in a broader sense. La denominazione attuale vuole essere un richiamo all’origine del toponimo Sìnnai. Due tra le ipotesi più accreditate sulla formazione del nome del paese farebbero infatti derivare Sìnnai dal fenicio sina (rovo, luogo pieno di sterpi) o dal latino medievale sinnum (segno di confine fra i salti di due villaggi). Tali ipotesi sarebbero confermate anche dal nome del secondo villaggio che diede origine al paese: Segossini, che significherebbe per l’appunto “subito dopo Sinnai”, in quanto unione o del termine latino secus o sardo segus (traducibili entrambi con subito dopo o dietro) con il nome sina o sinnum. The ethos of the choir is to have fun and enjoy singing. Each year we host a visiting choir and also spend a weekend away.
