We rehearse at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We aim to unite and represent our community through our JOY of singing. The choir has over sixty singers rehearsing each week and the main focus in rehearsals is preparation for performances. These performances can take the form of concerts and appearances in festivals and other events in the local community.

Today it comprises 23 selected singers, Cantilena meaning "lightweight song", deriving from the Latin word for "song" or "melody". Whenever possible, during concerts the members of the choir wear a pearl necklace to represent the significance of the activities pursued: each member of the choir is represented by one of the pearls, with the strand linking them all being the music - the main purpose of so much hard work to achieve artistic quality.
