of the Cross, the piece depicts a soul leaving its “still house” and venturing into the night. Seemingly fearless, the soul is guided out of the darkness by the light of love; Luminous Night reveals the soul’s fulfillment.
Lyrics: St. John of the Cross

This song was written by Ralph Schmitt who (amongst other things) leads the Rodean Girls School Choir (Johannesburg). We had the pleasure of learning this from them at a workshop before a joint Concert in 2010. If you hunt YouTube you can find several clips of them performing it magnificently. Great choir, Great tune. Thanks Ralph!
Opening Trio, Ali Orbaum, Sarah Pennington & Sam Burns
